About the Artist

Hello! My name is Debi Smith and I was born and raised in Jacksonville Florida. In the early 90's I was chasing the "music business" dream and found myself in North Carolina. Well.... life happened and it didn't work out. However, I needed some sort of artistic outlet. As a young child I always had the ability to draw using graphite pencils. As I got older, I changed my medium to pastels. I fell in love with it! My artwork has been featured in local galleries as well as art competitions. Recently, I decided to try burning hats. I absolutely love it! I have branched out in burning other items such as Guitar straps, hair clips, wood, gloves and really anything that can be burned. I can do custom work on just about anything that can be burned. I do have a full time job so I do this as a "second job." I am a Detective in N.C. and as you can imagine I'm pretty busy with that. lol This journey is fairly new, and I couldn't do this without the support of my wife Lori!
